Recently there have been many news reports about swine flu outbreaks throughout the world. As health experts are hard at work to gain a better understanding of the outbreaks, the American Red Cross is in close contact with federal and state officials including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to monitor the latest developments and updates.
At this point, the top priorities for the Red Cross are to maintain the blood supply and to educate people on ways they can stay healthy. Be sure to check out the Be Red Cross Ready Seasonal Flu Checklist on redcross.org for information on common flu symptoms and tips that can help you avoid getting sick.
